Andrea Baker RN, a former Palm Drive Med/Surge nurse, is helping to prepare Sonoma West Medical Center to reopen by cleaning out patient rooms, checking inventory, and setting up rooms with functional equipment. “I am happy to be a worker bee,” she says. “What could me more important than to do all we can to insure the health and well being of our community?”
Laurie Buettner RN, who worked as a nurse at Palm Drive from from 1980 until it closed last year, is volunteering to help with clinical setup in the out-patient area.
Rick Smith, the new “volunteer coordinator,” is also the husband of Christine Smith, the manager of perioperative services. “It’s very exciting for both of us to be helping to reopen our new community hospital.”
